Spent yesterday afternoon with my two beautiful Granddaughters in Edinburgh and thought I would share one of my photos from our afternoon.

It was a really lovely surprise call from a Bride to be we first met at the Walton Hall Wedding Fayre back in September last year.

She had been visiting lots of Wedding Fayres over Winter and had just returned from the latest at the Daresbury Park Hotel in Warrington.

Despite all the hours spent trawling round different venues and photographers they came to the conclusion that, almost five months on, we stood out from all the others in what we were able to offer them.

I visited them yesterday and they have booked us for their big day photography at the Parish Church and Mere Court Hotel, one of the most beautiful venues in Cheshire.

Needless to say it provided a perfect end to a long and busy day when that call came in.

Thanks Kimberley and Scott – we are really looking forward to your big day and capturing the emotions and memories for posterity in your beautiful Wedding album.

Warrington Wedding Guide

I read recently about a couple who went back to the photographer who shot their wedding four years after the event to finally order their album. Apparently they had paid for their album when they booked the wedding but the photographer had actually deleted all the files as it had been so long! Fortunately they still had a disc of photos they got from him after the wedding and were able to give it to him to use to create their album.

Could have been even more embarrassing for the photographer if they couldn’t find the disc!

Fortunately we’ve never had a couple take that long to order their album and we certainly would have contacted them before getting rid of the images. We tell couples that we guarantee to be able to produce albums and prints for at least 12 months after the date of their wedding.

We did however have a very unusual request recently. A young couple we know who got married in the last couple of years were talking with the Bride’s Grandmother  who told them that they couldn’t afford an album when they got married some 55 years ago.  The only thing they had was a box of the 3.5″x5″ proofs that photographers used to produce for display at receptions so that people could order prints. There were more than 60 of them and each one had a white one inch circle with a number written in it.

Obviously the photographers who produced them have long since departed so there was no chance of doing anything with the original negatives (even if they could track them down and they still existed!). The couple were keen to see if they could have an album of some sort produced for them and that’s when they approached us.

What we managed to do for them was scan each photo and save as a Jpeg file then cloned out the white circles. We then put together a twenty page 8″x10″ album containing most of the photos.

Needless to say her Grandmother was delighted with the surprise present – a page of which is below.

I just love it when we get the opportunity of an unusual challenge that can result on bringing so much pleasure to someone.

Wedding album after 55 years

The amount of effort, commitment, energy and time put in by these youngsters and their teachers is an absolute credit to them and needs more recognition than it currently gets. Several local businesses are already committed to helping but they still need more business and community support to help make their efforts for this into an event to be truly proud of and that people will talk about for years to come.

Guest of honour was Barney Storey who is a double Paralympic Gold medalist. He gave a very inspirational, motivational yet humourous talk on his experiences and some of the sacrifices that have to be made to achieve what is undoubtedly the pinnacle of success in any athletes career. It really was a great honour to meet him and to be able to say that I’ve held an Olympic Gold Medal in my hand. Barney is currently in training to qualify for inclusion in this year’s UK Paralympic Team.
